[edit] Summary

The comic strip Blondie from April 1, 1997, part of the Comic strip switcheroo. Drawn for this date by Jim Davis, artist and writer of Garfield. Copyright 1997 by King Features Syndicate. Original image was a GIF file, converted to PNG by the uploader.

In the first panel, Dagwood is holding a plate with a huge sandwich and speaking to the fourth wall: "Making sandwiches is an art, and I am an artist." In the next panel, Garfield walks onto the scene and Dagwood exclaims "Hey! Who are you?!" In the last panel, Dagwood looks unhappy, the sandwich is gone, and Garfield is patting his stomach thinking his reply "A patron of the arts."

Fair use rationale: This image is used to illustrate one of the one-to-one switches held by comic strip cartoonists as part of the "Comic strip switcheroo" held on April Fool's Day, 1997. The strip is used for informative and educational purposes only, and is not intended to infringe on the rights of the copyright owner.
