[edit] History
Formed in 2002[5], Bloody Disgusting was one of the first online challengers to horror mainstays like Fangoria (magazine). It also presents the horror convention Horror Hound. [6] Recently, it has seen some significant competition from Comcast and Sony's Fearnet[7]. But unlike competitors such as Fearnet or Fangoria, Bloody-Disgusting is largely "independent" with Miska and Owen maintaining editorial control.[8] Accordingly, Sci Fi chose it as their site of the week in August 2007. [9]
[edit] Genre
Bloody Disgusting is regularly quoted in movie trailers and advertisements for films like 30 Days of Night[1] or Feast[2]. Miska also makes media appearances as a "horror expert.[3]
[edit] Controversy
In May of 2007, Fangoria banned Bloody Disgusting from attending any Fangoria events.[citation needed]
