[edit] Plot

Based on the Sweeney Todd legend, this melodrama tells the tale of a murderous barber, Sweeney Todd, who supplies the raw meat for his neighbor, Mrs. Lovett's, pie-shop. In amongst the resulting carnage is a romantic sub-plot, although the film focuses mainly on the gore.

[edit] Cast

Andy Milligan directed the film which stars Annabella Wood as Johanna, Berwick Kaler as Tobias, Jane Helay as Mrs. Lovett, and John Miranda as Sweeney Todd.

[edit] Popularity

Bloodthirsty Butchers was not a large hit at the box office, for it was a period piece and the theme of the film was at times very unsavory.
