[edit] Overall explination
I have created a few variations on the same basic idea for the season summary which is usually placed prior to the individual game breakdowns on individual season pages.
- The first column, Week, gives the week of the season that the game was played. As seen on the on this season the numbers have been linked to the individual game recaps further down the page. Any weeks that were cancelled, such as the week after the September 11 attacks, should be ommited from this table OR not numbered, as can be seen here.
- The second column, Date, presents the date on which the game was played. It is suggested to include the day of the week (Sun., Mon., etc.). It is suggested that on schedules which include two different years, to also include the year (this should not happen during the regular season, but will during the playoffs.) The date on Bye Weeks should not be included. Linking days, dates, or years is optional.
- The third column, Kickoff, gives the EST of the kickoff of the game. In future/recent years the time of kickoff for all games is easily avalible. However, older games are more difficult to find, and are often unncecessary information. This column is optional.
- The fourth column, TV, presents the television station which broadcast the game. In future/recent years the broadcast station for all games is easily avalible. However, older games are more difficult to find, and is often unncecessary information. This column is optional.
- The fifth column, Opponent, presents the opposing team for that week. The team should be linked to: 1. The main team article (easier/quiker option) OR 2. the article concerning the opposing team's current season (ie. If you are linking the 1978 Steelers season, week 5, the link will go to the NY Jets 1978 season.)
- The sixth column, Result, gives the score of the game, and if necessary if the game was finished in OT. If the schedule is colored, as seen above, then stating W for Win, L for Loss, or T for Tie is optional. If the schedule is not colored the letter (W, L, T) must be included. The letter should also be bold, but the score itself should not be. If (OT) is included it should be bold.
- The seventh column, Record, gives the teams current record, with that week's game included. This column is optional.
- The eigth column, Game site, presents where the game was played. This column is optional providing that an @ symbol is placed in front of oppenents that are played away. The site should be linked to the article about the venue.
- The ninth column, NFL.com Recap, is for games played during and after the 2001 season, it should be linked to the recap of that game on NFL.com. This column is optional.
[edit] Current seasons
[edit] Explination
All of the information that is used in this table is easily avalible from other sources. It gives a complete recap of the season.
[edit] 2001 to 2006 seasons
[edit] Explination
Though these seasons are recent, some information such as the TV coverage and time of the game are difficult to find, I have eliminated them for this table.
[edit] pre 2001 seasons
[edit] Explination
NFL.com did not feature a summary of every game prior to the 2001 season, the column has been eliminated in this chart. Also, some information such as the TV coverage and time of the game are difficult to find, I have eliminated them for this table.

Notice how the color is relied on for the outcome of the game.
