[edit] Page not complete

Important note: this page is work in progress. I'm trying to set up this page and its sister pages, bare with me until they are completed. In the meantime, I'd appricate any help anyone can provide. Angel Emfrbl 15:21, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

I've cleaned the article up a little. Lancaster D Mistletoe 21:39, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Name Inspirations

Here is a list of pirates Oda "may" have used to base the crewmembers' names on. This list not only notes those in the aritcle but also those not mentioned in it already. I also included some tidbits on some of the pirates since I can't seem to find them in wikipedia. Hope this helps out.--CalicoD.Sparrow 09:54, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

  • Edward Teach (Blackbeard)
  • John Auger
A pirate who was pardoned by Woodes Rogers but reverted back to piracy. Was recaptured by Benjamin Hornigold and hanged in New Providence. Died at 1718.
  • Samuel Burgess
A british pirate and former member of William Kidd's crew. In 1693, he left the crew and went on several voyages around Madagascar trading supplies and guns to fellow pirates in exchange for gold and slaves. He later died of poison possibly concocted by a black chief he had an argument with. He was active as a pirate from 1690 - 1716.

[edit] Not unlike

Not unlike is a slang word? It appears here and on other One Piece articles. Should it be changed/removed? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 85.76.254.243 (talk) 17:49, 12 March 2007 (UTC).

[edit] A note on Doc Q

Although he is seen running swiftly away from Ace in the manga, the recent anime episode made a point of how both Doc Q and Stronger were too weak to get away from Ace - having to be dragged away by Burgess instead. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.157.59.155 (talk) 20:26, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Blackbeard Pirates.gif

Image:Blackbeard Pirates.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 14:37, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Reason for Merge

Okay... Preparing pages right now for reworking and stuff. Problem with Blackbeard page: Once you remove the "fancruft" there is nothing left. Maybe someone else can make it work, if YOU can then feel free to unmerge; I won't stop you at all<\u>. What I don't want to see is that same layoutted page being left intact I note. We're trying to save pages right now. Angel Emfrbl (talk) 17:45, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
