The movie also notably features Ben Stiller in a rare dramatic role as a sleazy police detective, as well as Mike Tyson playing himself.

It raised some controversy prior to release when the MPAA gave the film an NC-17 rating, which was later downgraded to an R rating after the re-editing of an interracial sex scene. The uncensored sequence was later released on the internet by the film's producers, who used it to nurture discussion on the censorship.
