Black Mountain is located in Dawson County, Georgia at its northern border with Gilmer County. At 3,600 feet, the peak of Black Mountain is the highest point in Dawson County. It is within the boundaries of the Chattahoochee National Forest and is part of the Blue Ridge Wildlife Management Area.
