Talk:Bisakol
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
According to the article, Languages of the Philippines, which is largely derived from information in Ethnologue, all these languages are in the Central division of the Bisayan (Visayan) group of languages, but Masbatenyo is in the Peripheral sub-division and Masbate Sorsogon and Waray Sorsogon are in the Warayan sub-division. This term, Bisakol or Bisacol, is being used for all three of these Visayan languages on the basis that they are all strongly influenced by Bikol. This may be a valid descriptive term, but it is not meaningful in terms of them having a common origin.
