Musicians' alleged bisexuality should be subject to the same verification criteria as any other information. For a lot of the people listed here, there is no evidence presented whatsoever that they're bisexual. Lyrics don't count: musicians often write in character.

  • Didn't Kurt Cobain say he was bisexual? --200.69.56.111 18:24, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Christina Aguilera

The article on this singer clearly states that the only source for this "fact" is a tabloid of questionable accuracy. Even though she admits to experimentation, that doesn't necessarily equal bisexuality. Should she really be included here? Beginning 22:28, August 31, 2005 (UTC) Ê

[edit] Any chance of CRITERIA?

The truth is that I dislike categories like this, because they almost always violate WP:POV, [WP:NOR]] and WP:V. This one, like some similar ones, is terribly subjective, but is made even worse by absence of any description of who should be included.

For example, I added some quotations on the Talk:David Bowie page where Bowie describes himself as formerly being a "closet heterosexual." If we take his most recent statement, he should be excluded from this category. Unless he made an even more recent statement I don't know about... Of course, if we take other earlier statements by Bowie, he should be included. So what counts? The one that is more "believable"? Any statement at any point? The most recent statement? In the absence of a statement by the musician her/himself, what might count? Any gossip column anywhere? A "reliable" source? The corresponding WP article? Etc?

At the least, the page ought to provide some guidelines for editors to know whether or not to add a given musician, not just leave it to every editor's guess about "what might this category mean". Lulu of the Lotus-Eaters 19:28, 14 September 2005 (UTC)

Is Wikipedia out to 'out' every celebrity whether they are straight or gay? Is this a gay community? For istance there is nothing in Joan Baez' article to prove she is bisexual yet she is listed in the group of bisexual musicians. ~~MRMAGOO3~~

[edit] Dannii Minogue

I don't think this singer is Bisexual.

She might have done some leude things with a women but that doesn't make her bisexual.

[edit] Freddie Mercury

Yes? No? I can't see why not... Alexrushfear 22:05, 25 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] RE freddie Mercury

He was gay not Bisexual. lol

Sean Combs is bi?

Read the Freddie Mercury article. He's bi.

How could you justify Sean Combs name? Did you ask him? I bet when he finds out he'll sue the pants off of you!

[edit] Willa Ford & Madonna

Madonna should be added. I also think Willa Ford, especially due to some of her quotes, very point blank, so I think both should be added.

According to nndb, and interviews both Kurt Cobain and Pete Townshend are bisexual

204.193.129.160 05:38, 17 October 2006 (UTC)yeah I think Curt Kobain should be added to the list.

[edit] Jason Mraz

In the August 2005 issue of Genre magazine, Mraz stated: "I have a bisexually open mind, but I have never been in a sexual relationship with a man. If the right one came along, then sure." —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.183.192.37 (talk) 01:05, 12 March 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Billie Joe's fans

Billie Joe isn't bissexual!!! He has two sons!!! It's LIE!!!!!! He is very BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!

Oscar Wilde had two sons. Bisexual doesn't mean homosexual you TWERP!!!!!. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.149.167.189 (talk) 23:58, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Edit* Bille Joe IS bisexual. His wife Adrienne says she knew he was into guys way back in the 90s when they got married, but that she loved him and that's all that mattered.

And also Pete Wentz should be added to this list.

Check their Wikipedia pages if you don't believe. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.220.216.171 (talk) 19:50, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Didn't Kurt Cobain say he was bisexual?

In an interview with gay magazine The Advocate, Cobain stated: "I mean, I'm definitely gay in spirit and probably could be bisexual. But I'm married, and I'm more attracted to Courtney than I have been toward a person, so there's no point in trying to sow my oats at this point. [Laughs] If I wouldn't have found Courtney, I probably would have carried on with a bisexual life-style. But I just find her totally attractive in all ways".

One could interpret this as he was bisexual and just ended up marrying a member of the opposite sex (Billie Joe Armstrong in point).
