Talk:Birmingham Roller

A nice photograph of this breed would greatly improve this article. Sting_au Talk 23:29, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
There should be a "controversy" paragraph on all four of the "Roller" pigeon entries. Two reasons: 1. These pigeons "roll" because they are bred to have seizures while in flight. This is a type of breeding regarded as grotesque by many, on a par with those who breed Persian cats whose faces are so indented that they can hardly breathe. 2. Roller pigeon fanciers are known for killing hawks and other raptors by the thousand, even those that don't feed on pigeons. Their methods are often crude and cruel. Details can be found in Audobon Magazine, May/June 2008 issue. --Zzedd3344 (talk) 05:37, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- My rollers enjoy flying and the rolling action seems to be enjoyable to them. Yes they are bred to do so, just the same as any performance animal is bred for a specific ability. I fly Rollers and I have never killed a hawk or any other raptor. I disagree with a "controversy" paragraph in the Roller pigeon entries. That is only a personal opinion of yours and biased in origin as evident by the WP:SPA created just to post your message. I have personal opinions too! Particularly on religion. Should I go and tag the Jesus article with my personal views? No I shouldn't. If I see you adding content to the Roller articles that violates WP:NPOV then I will revert your edits as vandalism.--Sting au Buzz Me... 12:28, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
