Birger Maertens (28 June 1980) is a Belgian footballer. He play in the centre of defence. He has been at Club Brugge since 1994 (1st team since 2001).
Maertens played his first game for Club Brugge on 9 August 2001. This game was against Icelandic side IA Akranes (4-0) at the UEFA Cup.
On 12 October 2005 he collected his first (and for now, only) cap for the Belgium national team, in the qualification stages for the 2006 FIFA World Cup against Lithuania(1-1).
