Bintie

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bīntiě (traditional Chinese: 鑌鐵; simplified Chinese: 镔铁) was a type of refined iron, which was known for its hardness. It was often used in the making of weapons. Bintie was probably a type of carbon steel. Some have claimed that bintie was actually Damascus steel (Wootz steel), however there is insufficient archaeological evidence to support this.
