I, Bill R. Tomison, was born on 16 October, in Portland, Oregon. I am a television news producer. I am 29 years old.
Along with my father and his father and surely several past others, I share the name William Tomison with an ancestor from the Orkney Islands in the very north of Scotland, who later worked extensively in Canada with the then-forming Hudson's Bay Company. On my mother's side, my ancestry connects to William Brewster, a Mayflower passenger. However, I try not to be snotty about such things as ancestry!...
As an elementary/middle/high school student, I attended Catlin Gabel School in Portland's West Hills. In high school, I got involved in cable access television with Tualatin Valley Community Access. For college, I went to Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts, and majored as a Media Arts Generalist, with a minor in broadcast journalism. I worked a great deal with EIV, one of Emerson's television production organizations, and therefore can say that I went to college with, and worked with, Maria Menounos.
After college I worked at WPRI in Providence, Rhode Island, then worked at WFSB in Hartford, Connecticut for a brief period, and then returned to WPRI.
