[edit] Good article review

  • Well written:
    • Lead needs to be heavily expanded per WP:LEAD.
    • Persondata needs to be added. Done. - Dudesleeper · Talk 19:05, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
    • Playing career part seems really short, despite the fact that he was playing in competitive football for 11 years. He was better known for his managerial career than for his playing career, hence information on his playing days is thin on the ground. - Dudesleeper · Talk 18:41, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
    • No need for honours section, per list incorporation.
  • Factually accurate and verifiable:
    • No source for move to Halifax. Mentioned in the second reference. - Dudesleeper · Talk 18:14, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
      • Can you move the reference so it is clearer for the reader (or keep the reference in the same place but insert the ref name (like with ref 1) Davnel03 18:21, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
    • First three paragraphs of Managerial Career unsourced. Fixed. - Dudesleeper · Talk 18:33, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
    • His services were disposed of completely two months later when Alan Cork was put in charge of first-team affairs and Gould was appointed general manager. - unsourced. Fixed. - Dudesleeper · Talk 18:41, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
    • "He tried to play the game the way it should be played. He had a funny side to him that not many people saw, and had the ability to turn a serious situation and make light of it. He was the salt of the earth, a man you could trust with your life. There weren't many people like him." - unsourced. The reference was included at the start of the quote from Brown. - Dudesleeper · Talk 18:04, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
  • Broad in its Coverage
    • The Playing Career section needs to be extended heavily. See above. - Dudesleeper · Talk 18:42, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

  • Overall
  • One other point: Include every detail you can with references. See, WP:CIT for more details. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Davnel03 (talk • contribs) 18:23, August 23, 2007 (UTC).

Because some of the issues here mean that pretty extensive work will have to be done that will probably take time, I am going to have to fail the article. Good luck with improving the article, and renominate it when the points have been dealt with. Davnel03 17:35, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
