This isn't particularly a big deal -- but is this Bill Gross really more well-known than the mutual fund manager? Bill Gross of PIMCO is the world's biggest bond fund manager and one of the most important people in the US financial system. This guy is just another Silicon Valley entrepreneur... in those terms, the other Bill Gross is like Bill Gates or Steve Jobs. Just throwing out the idea that they could be switched.
