Biloxi Steamers Baseball

The Biloxi Steamers are an Industrial Negro League baseball team. The Team was started by Warren Brown a Steamboat owner in 1940. The team started out as one of the greatest teams in baseball history winning 448 games of 551 in the teams years of existence. The team was managed by Tommy "Tomcat" Owens who also pitched for them. The very powerful hitter Joe Washington Played Right field for the team. The negro leagues unofficial rookie of the year Francis Millsap Infielded for the Steamers in 1946.The Squared off against the Birmingham Black Barons in what some would call the greatest game ever played the score was 17-17 going to the 13th Inning the winner would win the pennant. Francis Milsap stole home to help the steamers win the prized pennant.
