Billy is a audio player developed by Sanne Schaap, it supports play listing, FLAC, OGG, MP3 and WAV file formats. According to the Sheep's Friends website, Billy is capable of loading 1000 MP3s in a second.

  • Recording with "pre" functionality in radio streams
  • Musicbrainz support and replay gain values extracted, no support yet.
  • Last.FM scrobbling support has been added! (Billy 1.04K Beta - 27/02/2008)
  • Internet Radio, Billy 1.04b has internet radio support, it also has support for recording internet radio.
  • Sleep Timer, all Billy versions have a sleep timer, which allows the user to set a timer before Billy shuts down, either the computer or Billy.
  • Play listing, Billy has play listing support for PLS, M3U and plain text. The latter being the default Billy stores play lists in.

Billy has often been criticisied for its lack of skins, however according to the website, one of Billy's features is that it hasn't got skins. Sanne Schaap has been criticised for his lack of updating on the project, and not making the project open source. Many Linux users would like to see Billy get ported to Linux.[1]
