William David Stits (born July 26, 1931 in Lomita, California) is a former American football safety for a number of National Football League teams in the 50's and early 60's. He was drafted in the fourth round by the Detroit Lions in the 1954 NFL Draft. He played for the Detroit Lions, San Francisco 49ers, Washington Redskins, and New York Giants.
