Bill Aitken (politician)

Bill Aitken (15 April 1947, Glasgow) is a Conservative member of the Scottish Parliament for Glasgow.

Following a career in the insurance industry, he served on Glasgow City Council between 1976 and 1999, entering the Scottish Parliament at the election in May 1999. He is also a Justice of the Peace and a Deputy Lieutenant of the City of Glasgow.

He formerly served as Chief Whip for the Scottish Conservative Party in Holyrood. More recently, he has taken up the role of Convener of the Justice Committee, and also currently serves as the Justice Spokesman for the Scottish Conservative Party.

He is a supporter of Partick Thistle Football Club.
