Bikash Bhattacharya

Bikash Bhattacharya or Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya (Bengali বিকাশ রন্জন ভট্টাচার্যা) is the present mayor of Kolkata (2005-2010 session), heading Kolkata municipal corporation, in the Indian state of West Bengal.

Bikash Bhattacharya hails from the Naktala region of Kolkata. He joined the Communist Party of India (Marxist) as a student. He is a lawyer by profession. He took over the reins of Kolkata from the outgoing Mayor Mr. Subroto Mukherjee of Trinamool Congress party.
