Biju Viswanath is an award winning independent film maker based in Connecticut .

Currently ,he is working on a feature film based on the novel 'Marathon [1] by American author Richard Harteis, based on the true story of Pulitzer Prize winning poet William Meridith.[1][2]

His feature film Mahotsav (Grand Festival) had its world première at the 2006 Pusan Film Festival[3], followed by screenings at the Manila Film Festival, South Asian Film Festival in New York and the New Jersey Film Festival.

His English language feature film Déjà vu with British actors premièred at the 54th Locarno International Film Festival. Only two Indian films were officially selected that year, the other being the Oscar nominated Hindi film Lagaan. The film was screened in 15 international film festivals. [3]

Viswanath's directorial debut, A Voyage[4], is based on the works of famous Indian writer M. T. Vasudevan Nair. The film won the gold medal for best short film in India and honourable mention in Zanzibar International Film Festival[citation needed]
