Thanks for your catch on Nobunaga being Hideyoshi's lord and not the other way around. However, if "liege" means vassal, then why are we so used to seeing (in films, etc) retainers and subjects refer to their lords as "My liege"? According to Wikitionary, the word in fact has both meanings - a lord or sovereign, as well as his subject. Thanks. LordAmeth 22:10, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
