[edit] Standardizing with other Big Brothers

I noticed Alucard's revision in an attempt to adhere to "Project Big Brother" standardizing rules but I believe the way it was done erased alot of information that was added recently about the show. That includes the round 8 nominations, as well as the entire Nomination Totals table, which I see no reason why they should be erased. In addition, the new table is much more easier to read and understand. It does not stretch out all the way, the evicted and nominated for eviction rows are on top as it is primary information...and the table itself does not interfere with the "Airing" table on the corner. At least if we're going to standardize, let's do it in a way that does not discriminate against better templates and does not erase necessary information. Another concern is the writting of wiki-language. I did alot of clean-up in order for the language to be well understood and easily editted by wikipedians of all skills. With Alucard's revision, everything was set back to a confusing script writting. That can't be good either. People need to be more careful with their revisions and "undos" because in the process, good stuff might be erased. Exo (talk) 13:00, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

Exo I re-formatted the table without deleting information. I didn't mean to delete other information in the process. Also if possible when you have time could you add sources to the article like in the housemate sections. Thanks ♪♫Alucard 16♫♪ 00:47, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, now it's much better. :) The problem was that when you made the undo, it set everything back to what it was before some new information was entered. It also removed the nomination totals table, and the wiki-language clean-up that I did with the article in order to make it easier to use for less skilled users. That's why I was wondering what happened to all of that. As far as sources, the official website is the only website that does complete coverage. It has news dating back since the beginning of the show as well as videos from every daily review. That's basically the only source that covers everything. I am extracting information from the videos and will be making a highlights section as well. I'm not sure about the Evicted and Nominated For Eviction rows being on the bottom however, because it stands out much better when they are on top. IMO it makes more sense for them to be on top since the red "evicted pyramid" moves upwards every week and only the winner is left on top... When those 2 rows are in the bottom they just get lost, I mean I dunno...maybe it's a good idea to propose to "Project Big Brother" since you are in it. All I was trying to do was make it easier to see the primary info right off the bet, I think the red Xs were also a good idea that stands out more dramatically then just consulting with the table. I understand the standardizing argument but I also hope you can see how it might be affecting some efforts to make things stand out better than the standardized versions. Exo (talk) 01:35, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
One thing with the nomination tables is we are trying to standardize the tables while making them customizable depending on your country. For example the Big Brother (U.S.) uses a different set of rules beginning with its second season. Their first season followed the format of other countries. If you look at the tables in the USA version BB1 has the same style as the current table I have here, their second season has the top part used due to the new rules (Head of Household). You could propose that but then we would have to figure out how it would work with some more complex tables like Big Brother 9 (U.S.), Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition Plus. If you look at the Pinoy Big Brother tables they are the most complex out of all the others. While the USA is the most modified due to the different rule structure. So when proposing a change it will affect all articles and needs to be customizable. ♪♫Alucard 16♫♪ 02:54, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
Well, I proposed the "evicted on top" version on the Project Big Brother article so maybe we could come up with some kind of agreement there. The thing is that the Evicted information is basically the most important of the entire process and it should stand out above everything else, and in the current version it gets lost under the person who got evicted first. If you look at something like Democratic_Party_(United_States)_presidential_primaries,_2004#State-by-state_results this table, the end result is always on top, because it is the most important information. Anyhow, let's talk it over at the Project Big Brother talk page. I truly feel like it's much more practical that way, maybe other people could pitch in as well. Exo (talk) 03:04, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Merging Evicted and Ejected

Would it be OK if Evicted and Ejected was merged into something like the following table? Since they are evicted anyway, the only thing that changes is their ejection which is still reflected by the different color and the word "ejected". It's just more compact and it still serves the purpose. Consensus?

LOL, never mind, consensus needs to be found at the project page. God you guys have made this complicated!! :D Exo (talk) 03:21, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

That should be fine if you want them combined ♪♫Alucard 16♫♪ 03:55, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Whew, at last a consensus! :)) They are technically evicted anyway so might as well just blend them in, but then again as you said in the other article, there might be both an ejection and and eviction at the same week so we do need an extra row. This standardization is a pain since it affects every show in the world lol. Exo (talk) 05:03, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
In future seasons Albania may need an extra "Ejected" or "Walked" row in the event Big Brother decides to continue with the eviction. ♪♫Alucard 16♫♪ 06:00, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
Yup, I guess we'll have to wait until the end of this season to see if we still need the ejected row or if we can blend it in with the evictions. Exo (talk) 17:34, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
