[edit] Approaches
Big game hunting is approached in many different ways. A popular way to hunt is by using a tree stand[2]. A hunter will set up a tree stand and stalk prey.
Another common approach is still hunting. While still hunting, a hunter will approach his or her prey directly[3].
[edit] Weaponry
Big game hunting can be approached with a firearm or bow. Both weapons have seasons designated to them. Rifles are more effective for hunting at a long range [4], while the bow is used for shorter shots [5].
Higher caliber rounds are used in big game hunting as opposed to smaller game.
Some hunters will also use muzzleloaders to hunt with[6]. Muzzleloaders usually fire a .50 caliber or larger round.
