Big Kenny (born William Kenneth Alphin November 1, 1963 in Culpeper, Virginia) is a member of the country music duo Big & Rich. Before forming Big & Rich, Alphin was the lead singer of the group luvjOi (pronounced Love Joy), and recorded a solo album entitled Live a Little for Hollywood Records in 1999 before joining John Rich to form Big & Rich.
On January 23, 2005, he married Christiev Carothers in Deadwood, South Dakota. She has two sons from a previous marriage: Christopher and Cameron Carothers. Together, they have Lincoln William Holiday Alphin, born on November 2, 2005.
Alphin is also a songwriter. In addition to Big & Rich's singles, he has co-written "Here For the Party" by Gretchen Wilson; "Hicktown" and "Amarillo Sky" for Jason Aldean, and "Last Dollar (Fly Away)" for Tim McGraw. All but "Last Dollar" were co-written with John Rich.
In October 2007 Alphin traveled to Darfur, Sudan to deliver medical and educational supplies to victims of the Janjaweed led genocide.[1]
