[edit] Not Real
One of my German friends tells me that this city does not exist, and the German Government has put out information about the town as propaganda.. is there any truth to this? 74.129.117.156 (talk) 01:55, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
If you look into it, you will easily find info about the "Bielefeld Conspiracy." Tip 1: does Google Maps show it? Tip 2: Can you book a hotel there using Expedia? Hamtastic (talk) 21:42, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Sparrenburg
Well, the Sparrenburg is official known as "Burg Sparrenberg" - Sparrenburg is colloquial speech.

[edit] Sights
I improved the English in the Sights section. We need someone knowledgable in architecture to further improve the wording. For example I believe "facade" which occurs several times is probably not the right word. Also, I do not know what is intended by "hallchurch". There are no doubt other infelicities.

'Facade' actually is the correct translation of the German word, 'Fassade', when referring to the fronting of a building. So I think there's no problem with the word being in there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.61.136.157 (talk) 22:07, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
It was impossible in a reasonable space of time to do anything very useful with the comment on the pronunciation of Schildesche, which would not display as characters. For the time being, to save the appearance of the article, I have moved the comment here as it stood, pending somebody minded to sort it out: (with the irregular pronunciation /'ʃɪldɛʃǝ/ - similar to an adjective rather than a noun),

[edit] IPA
The International Phonetic Alphabet were in correct Unicode notation, which unfortunately not all computers can display. Please check whether this alternative notation displays better: /'ʃɪldɛʃǝ/ – Or please check whether International Phonetic Alphabet displays correctly. Otherwise maybe an external Schildesche or Schildesche (district of Bielefeld) with an explicit notice about Unicode font requirement might help. --Ylai 02:04, 18 August 2005 (UTC)
- You can use Template:IPA so that all IPA characters will display correctly in all browsers. AxelBoldt 06:22, 28 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Template:Infobox German Location
Please introduce the Infobox German Location. It provides a coherent look among German cities. Lear 21 23:02, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Bielefeld is fake
I can't actually believe that a reputable source like wikipedia subscribes to this myth. Bielefeld is no more real than the tooth fairy. 213.84.246.79 22:05, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] mention of conspiracy?
should the article mention the 'conspiracy' theory? it seems notable enough to mention.yuor faec (talk) 10:06, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
