[edit] my edit

I rewrote many sentences. Since I do not know anything about her life, I did not change the content that much (just to make it clearer). However, I did delete this: "At a time when most would have expected her to be welcomed home in Brazil as a hero, she had a bad experience on stage that left her forever bitter. However, despite this, after her February 1938 performance at the White House, she declined President Franklin Roosevelt's suggestion she obtain American citizenship." I didn't know how to clean this up--What was the bad experience on stage?--plus this web site [1], which is referenced in the article, contradicts the first sentence of the deleted text.
