[edit] Dangō

The dangō content below was removed from the dango article, since it didn't fit in with the rest of the article about a Japanese food. Feel free to merge whatever you can to this article. Or to create a new article called "Dangō" if you think it deserves an article on its own (which I doubt). Content:

Dangō (談合?) (bid rigging) or prearranged business agreement in which contractors privately form an agreement in advance on bid prices, etc. is still a habitual practice of the Japanese construction industry, although it is both a violation of Japanese criminal law and the Japan Anti-Monopoly Law. In 2006 alone, the governors of Wakayama and Miyazaki Prefectures, and former governor of Fukushima Prefecture in Japan were all nabbed or forced to resign due to nefarious connections to the Japanese construction industry involving "kansei dango" or "bid rigging instigated by government agencies." An excellent inside view of this stubbornly resilient and age-old business custom in Japan has been written by a Japanese and is located on the Internet [1].

[edit] rename

Should this article be renamed to Bid-rigging with a hyphen? ~ Rollo44 00:56, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
