[edit] Falling off
RE: Understand that if you slide off the side of the rollers but manage to stay upright, you will either fly into your television, or give your rug some nasty scuff marks, because your wheels will still be turning at 370 rpm., has this been White oak's or anyone else's experience? While I will second the scuff marks, when I have gone off the rollers, I just fall over without much forward motion. Has anyone experienced something different? If not, I may edit the above bullet point. Timdearborn 19:41, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
- I agree that the inertia of spinning wheels if unlikely to have much effect on an otherwise stationary bike and rider. I'd vote for editing out the 'fly into your television' claim. -AndrewDressel 03:47, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
- "Fly into your television" claim edited out.-Timdearborn 05:22, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Riding on Rollers
Akaszynski removed the sentence "However, gravity is still in effect." after the sentence "Should a rider ride off the rollers, he will not fly into his television at 30 mph, though he may leave some nasty scuff marks on the carpet." This sentence was originally there to indicate that if one rides off the rollers, while he won't shoot forward, he will fall over. This is important to take into consideration when picking a place to ride on rollers. I would like to add this sentence back into the article in some form. Any thoughts or suggestions? -Timdearborn (talk) 20:15, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] How To Section
Beland added the tag, "The how-to sections in this article may be unencyclopedic." Oops. I didn't know that. I will try to rephrase the section in the next few days so that it contains the same information but "in a way that reduces their how-to-ishness" ( [1] )Timdearborn 01:42, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
- I rewrote the "How To" section, renaming it "Riding on Rollers", and then removed the "How To" flag. Timdearborn 04:06, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Goldsprint vs Roller Racing
Are these two names for the same thing? If so, we should merge or at least crosslink the articles. If not, please explain the difference. Perhaps Roller Racing is a sub category of Goldsprinting or visa versa. -AndrewDressel 14:58, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Comparisons
I think it would be good to see some comparisons on training results / effort / cost / portability etc. etc. between rollers, trainers, stationary bicycles, ...
