[edit] On capitalization
to the best of my knowledge, "bianca" has never been capitalized. not only can this be seen in their logo (which has remained unchanged for many years), but also in freeform's (one of the founders) referenced essay. the original author of this article went so far as to modify the quote from the essay to capitalize "bianca" upon including it in the article. i believe it is correct to leave the b lowercase. [edit] "First" web-based chat-room
i am content to leave this (and even believe it), but it would be nice to have some references out there. surely wired or something has some hard facts (pro or con)? i could find at least one other contender in a quick search, but who knows. (sitelab) this also, of course, depends on how you define chat room. Jon Lon Sito 21:29, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] First 500 web sites
i am less convinced about the quote "one of the first 500 sites on the web", so have removed it. there are a couple places on wikipedia alone that give evidence to the contrary: User:Zompist/Early Web Info and List of websites founded before 1995. again, its subject to the definition of "web site" and the method used to count, but i think this text is a bit misleading. Much of the detail of the demise of the sigght was not represented, so I added the additional info
[edit] bianca's demise
The message boards at bianca.com are no longer operational and have not been so since late 2004; this includes the original smut shack. You may read the messages which are there but you cannot post new ones or reply to old ones. biance's chat is the only part of the site which still works, although it is down at the moment and it is uncertain if and when it will return. biance's email address is supposedly still valid but I am unsure if anything gets through and/or who, if anyone, reads/responds since I have not sent anything.
-
- It's May 28, 2007 and it seems to finally have come to an end. You can still access bianca.com but the links to the message boards or chats are no longer valid. If you click on a board or chat you will be directed to a "Not Found" or equivalent error page rather than the "sorry try again later" message. The only links that work are Home, What's New and Overview; all other sublinks do not. Since the main bianca.com page is still up, is someone still paying to keep that up?
[edit] Removing The Reef creation section?
What's the point in removing the section on the creation of The Reef? Is that in dispute? If not, it seems relevant to me. —the preceding comment is by Mattgrommes - 19:08, 27 September 2006 UTC: Please sign your posts!
(Yes, I'd say that the editorial section about how and why the Reef was created was completely and utterly false. If you'd like detailed information on the creation of the site, feel free to contact me. I have no problem clearing the air. Please understand that a lot of rumors run rampant when things like this happen. The truth may be told by the person (me) who created the Reef, along with the other Admins on site. It's not nearly as interesting or entertaining as the rumors (One more thing, I am not the one who took that portion out. That was someone else. Thanks. :) though.... [edit] Grammatical errors corrected
I retouched some of the grammatical errors in the last paragraph that describe the present operational status of bianca.com. It should read more clearly now. —the preceding comment is by Sandybeaches
I see the pencil neck dorks came in and sanitized this page, deleting the actual facts of the matter. this nis why Wikipedia is a waste of bandwidth. By the way idiots, they founders were originally from CHICAGO, not San Francisco —Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.160.5.25 (talk) 21:12, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
I removed some more misinformation regarding the origination of The Reef and any reference to it as a "clone". Sandybeaches
[edit] Re-added information on the reef
It is well documented that reef members vandilized biancas, first on line, and later, directly inside it's server, so i added the information. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.160.5.25 (talk) 22:45, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Factual accounts continue to be deleted by sandy beaches
why does "sandy beaches" continue to vandalize this page by deleting well documented facts regarding the systematic hacking and cyber attacks launched by the admins and members of "the reef" on bianca's ?
[edit] Put back the information on the reef
I put back the account of the cyber attacks on bianca's by members and admins of the reef. This is and was well documented, and can still be seen in the few remnents of the text still found on external bianca links. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.160.5.25 (talk) 18:20, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] I put back the information on the reef yet again
Contrary to ongoing published denials by the reef's admins and members, evidence can be found in the form of remnants of text and "flooding", along with decoy links leading to the reef's sign up page, which can still be found in what little content remains on the bianca.com site, so where is the dispute ? The reasons for the site no longer being active, certainly belongs in the artical.
