Bhuapur is located at 24.4583° N 89.8667° E . It has 32145 units of house hold and total area 225.02 km².

As of 1991 Bangladesh census^[1], Bhuapur has a population of 177095. Males constitute are 51.65% of the population, and females 48.35%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 87854. Bhuapur has an average literacy rate of 29.9% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. ^[2]
