[edit] The proper name
The name is Bhaktivedanta Narayana, and Maharaja is the suffix. Goswami is something else. Moving to Bhaktivedanta Narayana Maharaja. -- Raga 21:27, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
The full proper name of Gurudeva is Tridandisvami Sri Srimad Bhaktivedanta Narayana Maharaja Syamadas
- [Please remember to sign your posts.] Yes, that is no doubt the fullest name. However, "Bhaktivedanta Narayana" is the "identifier", the rest are honorifics. If you look up Encyclopaedia Britannica, you find listings such as "Bhaktivedanta, A.C." though strictly speaking that should be "Swami, A.C. Bhaktivedanta". Please remember that this is a dictionary, not ILoveGurudev.Com. Raga 15:12, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
"Goswami" is not a part of his official name. If anything were to be used after the name, it would be "Maharaja" – which is where I initially moved the page to. Since the page was moved away from "Maharaja" without any commentary on the talk-page, let's strip it to the base dictionary form: "Bhaktivedanta Narayana". I have no objections if someone wants to move it back to "Bhaktivedanta Narayana Maharaja", as long as double redirects are fixed. And don't move without discussing. [edit] NPOV
A lot of what's in this article is copy-pasted from B.V. Narayana Maharaja's websites and contains eulogy that doesn't belong to an encyclopedia entry. Come to think of it, quite a bit of what's in the story is actually something I once wrote for an early website for Maharaja. Still, it needs to be cleaned up for NPOV. --Raga 20:13, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
---There is no NPOV here. It's just all praise. Isn't there any downside? No disagreements? It needs both sides to get NPOV--125.24.241.246 09:44, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
I note that the article states B.V. Narayana Maharaja first met Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakur in 1947. This is an error. He met Sripad B.P. Kesava Maharaja at that time (Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasawati passed away in 1937).
I just fixed that error (I wonder why no one else fixed it?)--125.24.241.246 09:32, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] NO References
This article has 0 published references, which is not in accordance with Wiki or encyclopedia standard. Without 3rd party references and citations this could all be made up. Where's the proof?--125.24.241.246 09:34, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

- The article is from Vaishnava News Network- http://www.vnn.org/authors/narayan_maharaja.html. The VNN is highly regarded and further, it links (presumably with permission) directly to the site of Srila Naranyana Maharaj.
-
- The above reference on VNN is simply a link to Bhaktivedanta Narayana's personal website at [1]. This VNN article is the exact same article from the subject's personal website. This is not a Wikipedia:Reliable sources. Thanks. Ism schism (talk) 15:31, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
Should this page include a section on Narayana Maharaja's post 1977 dealings with ISKCON? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.110.195.162 (talk) 14:53, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Page Moved
The new title for the page is ridiculous, and doesn't reflect the AFD conclusion, which was to merge with ISKCON. Even still, Bhaktivedanta Narayana's involvement with ISKCON is barely significant enough to warrant mention on that page. Either the article needs to be improved and moved back to Bhaktivedanta Narayana, or it needs to be removed. Chopper Dave (talk) 19:38, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
