Beyond the Beltway

Beyond the Beltway with Bruce DuMont is a long-running nationally-syndicated political talk show based in Chicago at the Museum of Broadcast Communications([1]). It airs from 7-9PM (ET) every Sunday night on over 50 stations, including its flagship WLS-AM 890/Chicago and online at [2]
The show began in June of 1980 on Chicago Public Radio as "Inside Politics". It pioneered a feisty style of confrontational political discussion that has become a staple on cable TV. However, the program has mellowed over the years and now offers a more reflective style of political discussion.
The program featues three guests each week from across the political spectrum as well as listener phone participation. DuMont has strong conservative credentials but is a moderate in today's political talk circles. The program frequently originates from an affiliate location to underscore the program's prime mission of "taking America's political pulse from border-to-border and coast-to-coast."
A television version of the show airs Sunday night on WYCC-TV Channel 20 in Chicago.
