Who was in the power struggle? Why? What happened? Why?

I know for sure that a power struggle was the cause for it closing (first hand source). However, I am not clear about the exact protagonist and the exact details. I am pretty sure R' Yaacov Kamenetsky and R' Gedalia Schorr were involved. In any case, I don't have any sources for it so I just put it in vaguely in the hope that someone can help.--Yeshivish 18:56, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

It pains me to see the degree to which Rav Schorr, z"l was slapped around in life, so to speak. I think he lost this one to Rav Ungarischor, but won the war with respect to Torah Vodaath. Also, I am not sure if the BME controversy involved R' Yaakov, but rather Rav Ungarischer. Both parties were great enough, it seems, to keep it under wraps. If only that we be the case today.
