Betty Thatcher is/was a Welsh poet who wrote lyrics to tapes sent to her by Micheal Dunford for the UK band Renaissance.

She wrote the lyrics for 90% of the music; Later some of the other band members tried their hand-with mixed results. Thatchers lyrics could be extremely new age goopy at times, yet very concise and appropriate when she had a theme to work on, rather than just adding free form poetry to the existing music., She married, and is now Betty Thatcher-Newsinger.
