"Better Than You" is the fifth track of Metallica's album ReLoad. The song won the 1998 Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance; it was the band's fourth award in that category. The lyrics theme might be taken as an ironic view on arrogance. The lyrics can also deal with somebody who's obsessed of the struggle to be better than somebody else.
[edit] Critical reception
In an October 2007 interview, Evile frontman Matt Drake stated that he felt Metallica's 1997 album ReLoad "was let down by material like “Better Than You”".[1]
