Beth Israel Medical Center

Beth Israel Medical Center is a hospital in New York City. It has four major locations providing health services. It acts as University Hospital and Manhattan Campus for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University. The hospital is also a teaching hospital of St. George's University. The main hospital location is at First Avenue and 16th Street.
Beth Israel Medical Center is a member of the Continuum Health Partners, a nonprofit hospital system that consists of four other institutions: Roosevelt Hospital, St. Luke's Hospital, Long Island College Hospital, and the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. The medical center is affiliated with the NewYork-Presbyterian Healthcare System.
The current CEO and president of Beth Israel Medical Center is Dr. David J. Shulkin, M.D.
Beth Israel Medical Center is a 1,368-bed, full-service tertiary teaching hospital that was founded on Manhattan's Lower East Side before the turn of the 20th century. Beth Israel originally was dedicated to serving a vulnerable population in that community. Now a century later, the Medical Center serves individuals and families from every walk of life throughout New York City and beyond. Beth Israel Medical Center is home to Continuum Cancer Centers of New York, one of the leading cancer and oncology departments in the New York metropolitan area joining together physicians from Beth Israel as well as St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital and Long Island College Hospital. The Center is headed by Dr. Louis Harrison, Clinical Director, Continuum Cancer Centers of New York and Co-Director of the Institute for Head & Neck Cancer, Chairman of Radiation Oncology, Beth Israel and St. Luke's-Roosevelt.
