[edit] Welcome

Welcome!

Hello, Bernardwillis, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!

As to the question of the page you created for Saba software, there are a few issues. First, as I mentioned on the talk page of the article, the text is a direct copy from a page which asserts copyright. Wikipedia cannot accept such submissions. Secondly, the original text is copied from a description of the company on the company's own website. This sort of content will almost never be appropriate for an encyclopedia. Wikipedia attempts to write everything with a neutral point of view, while most marketing material will have a different aim. And finally, it appears that you might be affilliated with the subject of the article. While it is not strictly forbidden to write an article about an organization in which you have an interest, it is often not a good idea. See the guideline on conflicts of interest for more information.

So, again, we welcome you to Wikipedia. And if there are any questions I can answer for you feel free to ask on my talk page. ScottW 22:22, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Hello. Concerning your contribution, Saba software, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. Saba software has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message. If the source is a credible one, please consider rewriting the content and citing the source.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GFDL, you can comment to that effect on Talk:Saba software. If the article has already been deleted, but you have a proper release, you can reenter the content at Saba software, after describing the release on the talk page. [edit] Saba Software

A tag has been placed on Saba Software, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group or service and which would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Xdenizen 07:58, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:SabaLogoLg.JPG

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:SabaLogoLg.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. [edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:SabaLogoLg 10pct.JPG)

Thanks for uploading Image:SabaLogoLg 10pct.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 18:29, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
