Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRKA, NYSE: BRKB) is a company headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska, USA, that oversees and manages a number of subsidiary companies. Formerly a textile company, it was taken over by Warren Buffett in the 1960s, and is now primarily known as Buffett's investment vehicle.
In addition to its subsidiaries, it also owns sizeable stakes in major companies including The Coca-Cola Company and BNSF Railway, holding a 25% stake in the latter.
