Bertram K. and Nina Fletcher Little were prominent collectors of American folk art and active historians. Nina Fletcher Little (1937-1984) served as director of SPNEA (now known as Historic New England) for 21 years and published six books including American Decorative Wall Painting: 1700-1850. The couple maintained their extensive folk art collection at Cogswell's Grant in Essex County, Massachusetts until 1984, when it was deeded to SPNEA.
