Bergfrid Fjose

Bergfrid Fjose (born 31 March 1915 in Ullensvang, died 13 May 2004) was a Norwegian politician for the Christian Democratic Party.

He was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Hordaland in 1969, and was re-elected on one occasion. She was the leader of the informal parliamentary temperance and nynorsk groups.

She was the Minister of Social Affairs in 1972–1973 during the cabinet Korvald. During her time in cabinet she was replaced in the Norwegian Parliament by Gunnar Mjånes and, briefly, Magne Haldorsen. During her period in office, she was responsible for the Vinmonopolet; that period saw the introduction of a plastic bag for the customer to carry their bottles, unusually coloured purple - making quite visible who had visited one of its shops. Those bags were quickly nicknamed fjoseposer (Fjose-bags), a named still occasionally used today.^{[citation needed]}

On the local level she was member of Kvam municipality council from 1951 to 1952, of Årdal municipality council from 1959 to 1963 and Fana municipality council from 1967 to 1971. She worked as a teacher in all these municipalities until 1967, when she became a pensioner.
