Odd. Usually I get an orange-yellowish warning tag when people leave me a message. To be frank, I was hoping to get nailed by AntiVandalBot. My associates and I are conducting an experiment to see the bot has an "anon bias", but for the last three days not one single page we have hit has been reverted by AVB. This is becoming frustrating. On that note, blanking one's own user talk page is generally frowned upon; you should really consider archiving the content rather than deleting it. 75.6.216.202 07:28, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

For some reason I have been noticing AntiVandalBot not working as quickly as it usually does. Normally, it gets to page blanking long before I see it on the recent changes. Or maybe I'm just getting better at spotting vandalism :) As for the blanking, I did debate with myself whether or not to blank it. It contained just the welcome messages and what not, as you can probably see in the history. As far as archiving, there are still many things I have to learn about Wiki, but I'm learning and will look into it. Thanks for the suggestion :) --Bennybp 07:35, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
Archiving is easy, you may do it manually or, if you prefer, you can have one of several bots handle it. In general, a page titled "User talk:(name goes here)/Archive 1" is created and messages that have outlived there usefulness get placed there. 75.6.216.202 08:16, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

A technical glitch prevented your approval from being completed the first time, however, I redid it, and it should now be working. Let me know if you have any problems, Prodego talk 02:20, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Flag of Lithuania

Generally, if the topic is about a British subject or the main author uses British English, then you would use colour. But since the article is on a Lithuanian subject and the author (me) uses American English, the use of color is fine. We can always change it back to EN-US once the article is removed from the front page. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 06:03, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

One more thing, we can still link to tricolour even using the American spelling. Press edit and see the following code. tricolor. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 06:04, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
Actually, I just noticed that tricolour is probably correct independent of the subject. Even the article for "tricolor" redirects there. Sorry for any confusion. I changed it back. --Bennybp 06:05, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
I have no plans of moving tricolour at all, so it is just a slight confusion. Don't worry about it too much, save your energies for other battles. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 06:18, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
No problem. I'll defer to more knowledgable people on this one :) Thanks for the heads up. --Bennybp 06:23, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] molecular group theory tables

Hi Benny. As we discussed some character theory and symmetry tranformations a bit ago on the Science reference desk, I wanted to point out a new list page I was working on, character tables for important 3D-point groups. It is currently in my user space; it can be finished and fine-tuned, then moved to article space.

Here is what I have in mind for the page's future:

  • The Dnh, linear (may not keep these since the groups are not finite), and polyhedral groups need to be done.
  • A good introduction written; ideally, one which briefly explains i) application of the tables; ii) how to read them.
  • Getting some papers to reference which discuss character table generation for finite groups.
  • Proofreading (ughh)
  • Eventually, the tables should probably be rewritten in LaTeX, so the vertical and horizontal justifications work better, the interior borders can be finely controlled, and the math symbols are nicer.
  • Some cross wikilinking, and some minor beefing up of those other articles.

Please do not feel I am recruiting you to help write it, although I won't (and can't) stop you if you are so inspired; in addition, any comments you may have are most welcome. Perhaps the best place, if you have any comments, would be its talk page. Baccyak4H (Yak!) 17:35, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

I award this Barnstar to Bennybp for actually providing a correct answer instead of vague musings on Wikipedia:Reference desk/Miscellaneous. --Milkbreath 11:12, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
Why, thank you! You made my day :) --Bennybp 22:25, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
