[edit] Crotalus atrox pic
Hi Ben, I saw the new image that you added to the Crotalus atrox article, but I'm not sure it's of the correct species. Have you noticed those paravertabral stripes down its neck? That's more typical of the the C. durissus complex (which includes C. simus). However, considering the light coloration, this one looks to me more like an example of C. basiliscus (of which I can show you some more examples later). If it is actually an albino, it's not a true albino because it still has come scale/skin pigment and its eyes aren't red. --Jwinius (talk) 14:24, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hello, you are right... it looks like I misidentified this rattlesnake after I took its picture! You were right with your first suggestion, it is a Crotalus durissus after all, and the subspecies is C. d. unicolor. Here is another pic of the very same snake that I found on Flickr where it is labeled as an Aruba Island rattlesnake. I will re-upload the same pic with the new name. Thank you!
