[edit] Better photo available?

Anon editor at 68.50.200.8 asks: He deserves a better online photograph than the one at the right. Perhaps one of the terrific ones from his memoir, "At Random."

[edit] Green Eggs & Ham $50 wager rumour

The article said the 'rumor' was 'most likely untrue'. If it's a rumour, it should be enough to say that it's a rumour and leave it at that. However it might be confirmed by one or both of the following reference works:

  • MacDonald, Ruth K. Dr Seuss.

Boston: Twayne Publishers, 1988. ISBN 0-8057-7524-2 (pp. 138-139).

  • Silverman, Betsy M. "Dr. Seuss Talks to Parents."

Parents. November 1960 (p. 13

Both of which are cited in the Snopes urban legend reference page as evidence of the rumour's veracity: http://www.snopes.com/language/literary/greenegg.htm

If anyone who has one or both of these books can confirm this, this would be appreciated. Thanks. DavidFarmbrough 15:58, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

The article contains a quote by Helen Geisel, Dr. Suess' widow. This cannot be, because Helen Geisel committed suicide in 1967, 24 years before Dr. Suess' death. Perhaps the writer meant AUDREY, who was in fact widowed by the death of the Doctor. Shoshani (talk) 16:22, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
