Bensimon

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bensimon is a French lifestyle brand launched in the seventies by Serge Bensimon in Paris. Serge’s grandfather originally began the family business as a clothing line inspired by Army surplus for both men and men, importing American clothes after World War II. With its establishment as a surplus brand, Bensimon’s mission is to combine simplicity with luxury. The brand uses basic fabrics like recycled linen taken from unused army sheets, canvas and rubber. Bensimon currently carries clothes, shoes, cosmetics and bags. The French brand has been in the European market for thirty years, and in Spring 2008, Bensimon entered the U.S. market with its canvas shoe collection, La tennis Bensimon. Currently, Bensimon is sold in luxury retailers like Tani and Jumelle in New York City and American Rag in San Francisco. In the United States, MegaBlue handles the distribution for Bensimon and A Supreme Agent handles its sales.
