Benet Copping

Benet Copping (born October 7, 1986) is an Australian rules footballer. He plays mainly as either a centre half-forward or centre half-back and began his football career at Mt. Barker Football Club in the Adelaide Hills Football League.

Recruited from the Sturt Football Club as selection no. 59 in the 2004 AFL Draft, he is a key position prospect who spent the 2005 season as a development player. The nephew of former Essendon defender Stephen Copping, he mainly played in the WAFL reserves competition for East Perth in 2005 and early 2006, before earning a regular spot in defence in the league team. At Fremantle he has been allocated guernsey number 26.

Copping was delisted at the end of the 2006 season without playing a senior game for Fremantle, however was redrafted with Fremantle's last round pick in the 2007 Rookie Draft. He was again delisted at the end of the 2007 season, still not making his AFL debut.
