Ben Abarbanel-Wolff (b. 1974 in New Haven, Connecticut, USA) is an American saxophonist based in Berlin, Germany. Ben grew up in Washington, D.C., and studied at the University of Michigan and the New School for Social Research, in New York City. He also studied intensively with master drummer Milford Graves at Bennington College, where he earned a Master's degree. In 2001, Ben moved to Berlin where he is active in the city's funk, jazz, and African music scenes. He is a member of the Xavier Naidoo band, the Ulrich Gumpert Quartette, Sirone's Concord, musical director of the Afrobeat Academy Band (Bantu and Brother's Keepers). He also performs with the Poets of Rhythm and Karl Hector and the Malcouns (Stone's Throw/Now Again). He has performed with funk and soul legends Marva Whitney and Gwen McCrae. He has a long-standing collaboration with the original Africa 70 guitarist Oghene Kologbo.
