Talk:Beliefnet

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This page reads more like a press release written by a long-time b'net member. Except for the cited press release all of the information about the site is probably personal research. JimCubb 21:25, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

I agree, but I do think that this would make a good article. I think it's salvagable and will add it to my "to do" list. Nightngle 15:21, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
Nah, a lot of the information has been lifted from the Beliefnet site. I'll work on it in the next few days and get rid of the plagiarism and find some outside sources for references. Roaming27 06:48, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

It is much better but still needs more work than I have time to give. JimCubb 04:51, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

"sparknotes" is not a generic--Does Beliefnet contain a link to the SparkNotes page, or does it maintain a lit-crit breakdown of the Bible similar to Cliffs, Monarch, Spark Notes? MJFiorello 03:23, 20 April 2007

I'm not sure what you meant? Beliefnet does not have a referral system. You made this comment:

[edit] Beliefnet access problem?

I used to access Beliefnet quite regularly. After a few days, when I try to access Beliefnet I get an error. Can anybody confirm that it is a generic problem, and not due to my ISP? Thanks Miguel de Servet 18:41, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Posssble bias for some more than other

I have experince over the years using beliefnet some wonderful and postive experinces. I have felt my faith was second class to another. The Judaism Debate sect would allowed time and time again to let some jewish people mock and inslut the christian faith and when I stood up I was punish. I was finally supend from belifenet for two weeks. I try to conplain to them, but felt their bias. I could be very wrong and if so I am sorry. I just felt the need to express this view and if need please move to discussion if not suit it for here. Time and time some in jewish sect could be little my faith and when I said something I was punish. I hope another community will come along and not be so bias as them. (Irishmonk)

[edit] Liberal bias

Similar to what the other poster said, there is an inherent bias on Beliefnet that runs against Christians. It's not very smart as a management policy given the fact the article already admitted that 70% of its clientèle is Christian. The problem, however, is that Beliefnet has somewhat of a monopoly on multi-faith forums. Good news though, there are conservative alternatives. All one needs to do is find a search engine and type in key words like "belief" "interfaith" and "discussion." —Preceding unsigned comment added by Smallville genius (talk • contribs) 05:14, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
