Bellary Airport (IATA: BEPICAO: VOBI) is the airport serving Bellary, a city in the Karnataka state of India. The airport served as an air strip during British rule, especially at the time of World War II. The airport lost its significance afterwards. The renewed interest in the airport is due to hectic economic activities taking place due to vast reserves of high quality iron ore found in Bellary district and subsequent setting of integrated steel mills in the region.
