Apparently in Bangladesh "Begum" pretty much means "Mrs"... AnonMoos 13:41, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

Completely agreed with you, the sentence does not make any sense. The word is clearly Turkic and is feminine of [[Bey]] (also Beg and Beigh). Also look The Free Dictionary . --Mehrdad 15:10, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
